Early Mornings

I'd like to share an excerpt from my journal this morning, which I wrote sitting here:

looking over at this:

"Daddy!" "Here I am!" "Oh good morning!!", she says (as she runs and jumps into the arms of her Father). The she is me. Every time I come here to this joy chair I am running to the arms of my Daddy. Normally I write these letters to Him but today, for some reason, I'm writing to you. I don't even know who "you" are. But here we go.

Do you know my Father? The One who created the heavens and the earth and everything in them? Do you know He loves you more than any of those things and that He created them all for you to enjoy and to bring Him glory? He wants you to look up at the sun and clouds in the sky and the stars and moon in the heavens and see Him. He wants you to look around you right now and see Him and know just how much He loves you. When life is grand and glorious and all is well He wants you to run to Him. When darkness falls and everything seems hopeless, He wants you to run to Him. Run to Him and share your joys and your pain. Share with Him your strength and your weakness. Share your laughter and your tears. Do you have any idea how much He longs for you to come running to Him and jump into His arms? Laughing or crying - excited or dreading - ecstatic or angry - He welcomes you. He throws His arms around you, picks you up and holds you close - chest to chest - heart to heart. Did you notice this picture on my side table? I want you to see the look on His face as he holds you.
He loves you so very much. He never wants to let you go - to let you run back into the world - to chance you may not come running back to His arms again. But He does let go. And then He waits - expectantly, longingly for the next time He will hold you close. So, what are you waiting for?

Okay, Candy, no fair..I am sitting at my desk, at work, with tears streaming down my face. You know there is so much about a father's love that I don't understand but I am trying to embrace that...

What a beautiful picture! In the arms of Jesus is the only place of certaity; in the arms of Jesus is the only place of true and soul-filling rest; in the arms of Jesus there is life and life abundant. We need only know that he waits expectantly for us to come running to him or that we call His name.

He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Thank you for that hope and that firm promise sweet Jesus!

Bev - We all have a lot to learn. Thankfully we have a very patient Daddy.

Lynette - I am so thankful we share the same space.

Lauren - It's all about the Father's love, girlfriend. And you're right, it's abundant!
