I have the most incredible life. God has blessed me in ways I never would have or could have imagined. I have a most caring and wonderful husband and the greatest kid in the world. These stand out as His biggest blessings. But I have also been blessed with vision. I can see God in things. I can see His fingerprints in a leaf, in a ripple, in a dance. Let me back up. I went for a walk this morning. In Abilene today it's cloudy and cool and it really feels and looks like autumn. I love this time of year! I live in a neighborhood which backs up to a small lake. We don't live on the lake but very close by. When I walk if I go counterclockwise around the neighborhood I walk down a street that leads me looking directly out at the lake. Thank you to whoever hasn't built on that big beautiful lot yet!!! I never go out on the lot - ok, once I did and had my own Easter sunrise service, but that was years ago. Today I felt compelled to go out and sit on the huge rocks someone set out there. It was beautiful. The lake was so still. The reflections of the trees and homes along the lake seemed so serene and otherworldly. The ducks were swimming, the gulls were diving (I know seagulls in Texas! I swear!), the fish were jumping. I just sat and drank in the morning. Then it happened. I was sitting on a rock surrounded by huge reeds on either side and the reeds started to dance. I mean it! They were dancing! How delightful is that! Okay so a boat tooled by and I got to see what happens in the wake. But by the time the wake got to the reeds the boat was gone and there they went - off in a dance! Isn't it just like God to show us how He knows we're alone with Him and give us our very own show. Noone else in the whole world saw the reeds dance there today. He did it just for me. I told Him I'd like to see all the fish jump out at once, take a spin in the air and splash back in the lake, but I guess He thought dancing reeds were enough for one day and Heaven knows I don't want to get greedy. Maybe next time the fish will dance. I know they do. God made them. And if He wanted to, He could make them dance for me. I'm looking forward to that but for now I am loving the dance of the reeds. Look for Him in your day.

WOW - this is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this truth.
Seeing a double rainbow yesterday was a profound moment and I am thankful for the eyes that were able to see it.

You had an exclusive, intimate time that you have then shared with us. Thank you Candy for this wonder.

Love thos picture of the dancing reeds - reminds me that he will not crush a bruised reed, no, he will heal them to dance, in delight at his presence. A great meditation for the fragmented soul.
