I wrote this one a couple years ago. It still holds as true as it did 2000 years ago.
Born in a stable
one dark starry night,
the Christ child came
to the shepherd's delight.
An ordinary night
in fields where they kept
their flocks so protected
they peacefully slept.
When suddenly there came
a light so bright
and angels filled
the sky that night.
They rushed into town
to see the Promise -
the lowly shepherds
knew hope was upon us.
How fitting He came
to the shepherds first.
He knew they'd understand
as He quenched their thirst.
For He who came
is the Shepherd of Man.
He leads and He comforts
as no other can.
Jesus was born
one dark starry night,
and the hope of the world
was never so bright.
Merry Christmas!
