Leaning On Two Feet

These times are hard
and dark and sad,
but still we trust in You.

You are our hope
on Whom we lean
You're all that holds us up.

Though we might fall
we don't - we stand
upon our Rock, our Source.

The strength You give
is all we have
Your presence all that's felt.

O Lord, our God
we ask, "But why?"
You answer us with peace.

Our hearts are stilled.
We know Your love.
And so we stand, but lean.

I wrote this poem this morning in the first quiet time I've had in awhile. My prayer is that God's presence is felt, in myself and in so many others. I pray that we all know it is Him we lean on. He is the source of our strength. Even when we can't make it to that place to be with Him, He's still here beside us strong enough to lean on. Waiting for us to lean on Him. Silently begging us to let Him bear our weight. He really can support us.
