I Wonder

I have just witnessed a most spectacular sunrise. What an amazing way to begin the new year. He truly is new every morning, and in fact every year. And each time I see a sunrise I know that the morning is bringing me word of His unfailing love. This morning all I could think was to "Ascribe to the Lord, o mighty ones, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name, worship Him in the splendor of His holiness." My word this year is "wonder". I stand in wonder at His glory, His presence among us in the sunrise every morning. I look around me and I see so many things that must make Him so sad and yet every morning, every single morning He displays His splendor once again and for some reason He continues to unfailingly love us, His creation, the very image of Himself acting the way we do. I'm not just talking about the world. I know I have disappointed Him this year greatly. There is so much more I could have done. So much more I know I am to do. My prayer is that this year as I gawk in wonder at His majesty I will, in turn, be thrust out into the world to ascribe the glory and splendor due His name, that I will worship Him in the splendor of His holiness. If I would simply open my mouth and let the words flow out of my heart, He would be honored. They're His words, He put them there. It's my responsibility to let them out to those He wants to speak to. This year I want to do that - speak of His love to His creation. I want to be zealous in this love, just as He is zealous in it. Happy New Year!
