Football
Today we're off to Lubbock for the Abilene Eagles second playoff game. Now why, you ask, would we bother driving 2 1/2 hours to go to a football game? Two reasons - 1) it's West Texas and everybody does it, and 2) Max will be dressed out and standing on the sidelines! (That would be him - #8) Last weekend we drove to Stephenville to watch him stand there and this week we're on our way to Lubbock. From what I understand it's an honor to be chosen as a freshman to be there on the side, in uniform, cheering the team on. They chose 15 guys out of over 100. For Max the best part was running onto the field through the Eagle and then through the big leather sign at the half.
I love this kid. Go Eagles!

Go Eagles, peck their eyes out
that is cool!
I don't even know if our colleges HAVE football teams, and High School games usually get a crowd of about mmmmmmm 6 parents....I'm not kidding...
That is quite an honor. We went to our share of football games to support our sons, who both played in the band - 11 years apart. My husband also played in the band in high school - they all played the drums.
That is so cool. I wish Jim Ned had gone to playoffs but they didn't. I hope Abilene High goes far and you get to keep going to the games and watching him stand there. You never know they could be up by a bunch and he could get to play.
Wow.. looks just like the movies!!! (Football in Australia is a VERY different thing...!!! hehe)
I can FEEL the school spirit!!! I love football!!
Oh, Candy how I love you-thanks for your sweet comments!! And...oh how I love football-especially in west Texas!! The question should be: Why would you NOT bother driving 2 1/2 hours for a football game?! ;) That is so great for Max-what a great honor!!
Hope to see you Monday! Blessings~
