Angels Among Us

I imagine the branches of this tree, which hovers over my friend's house (appropriately called "Hephzibah Haus") in Fredericksburg, covered in angels. I can almost see them if I look closely enough.

This last weekend 9 women gathered to celebrate the birth of one. What a piece of heaven! The weekend consisted of women asking women to "please teachme", - moments of healing, sharing of stories, laughter and a measure of tears. Something about this place promotes restoration and renewal. Spirits arrive broken and return home in stages of being restored. I was working out a few demons of my own. It's amazing how we come under the seemingly innocent motive of celebrating birth and we find ourselves privy to the work of the Spirit in and around us. I wonder if anyone else saw what I saw and heard what I heard.

On Saturday morning as I waited for the house to wake up, these words came to me:

Angels surround us
as demons hover, threatening
to steal our peace -
the battle rages.

Obliviously we shop
then stories pour out,
laughter peals
wings flutter - Heaven opens
and we celebrate Victory!

and I swear I could hear a shift - in me? In the air? In Heaven? I don't know. But something was different and I am grateful.

Candy,

You are not alone. There are those that have ears to hear the shift in the heavenlies. I encourage you to continue to give a voice to the beauty that surrounds us. If we do not praise the wonderous creations of God, the rocks will cry out.

It was a pleasure to serve you tonight. Trish

What is a shift in the heavenlies?

Jamie - What I meant about feeling or hearing the shift was that moment in time when you know that something has changed - when you turn the corner from despair to hope, from confusion to understanding, from wounded to healing. For me it sounds like laughter, His, mine, ours - sometimes a chuckle othertimes a gut wrenching belly laugh.
