Time's Up!

I can't believe it's the last day of 2010.  In fact there are less than 6 hours left.  Time sure is flying lately.  I looked back over this blog for the year and it sure was skimpy!  I hit some high points but over all it was sparse.  I think that may change in 2011.  

My word for 2010 was "time".  It sure did pop up throughout the year - several times on this blog.  Weird how that works.  This asking God for a word thing fascinates me.  I love how it opens the doors for Him to interact with us in ways we never would have experienced if we hadn't asked.  

Time passed in forever ways this year for our family.  My dad died.  So did Geoff's mom.  Max graduated from high school and started college (which means living in a dorm).  These are three big things that changed our lives forever.  It was time for all that stuff I guess.  Transitions.  Change.  For a long time I fought change.  I didn't like it one little bit.  I've changed.  Now it seems like a big adventure just waiting to happen.  Amazing.  God did that.

I do see how time played out in amazing ways in my life this last year and I am so very grateful for how God prepared me for things well in advance.  He is truly a God of details and relationship.  He loves us so much and He is so incredibly BIG - Beyond Big - Big isn't even a minute percentage of one percent of Him.  There are no words that come close.  None.

Ok, I'm rambling.  Let's cut to the chase.  It's time.  Time to ask God for a new word for 2011!!  That's exciting!  This time around I asked and immediately heard _____.  (I'm not telling until tomorrow.)  In fact, every single time I asked I heard the same thing.  Weird.  

Here's the deal.  If you're reading this, there's a reason.  God wants to knock your socks off with His love and the fact that He knows you - personally - individually - completely.  So I dare you to give it a try - ask - and then listen.  Pay attention and I guarantee you He will make it clear.  He loves you.  He wants to interact with you.  Come back tomorrow and I'll tell you mine.  

Oh, and apparently 2010 was also time for a tattoo.  There I said it.  Maybe tomorrow I'll post a photo.
