An Amazing Thing Happened...

The most amazing thing happened as I took kids to school today. First, let me explain "kids". Max didn't want to go by himself so he called his friend, Jordan, who lives around the corner and she had Abby staying with her so the two of them rode with us this morning - which was such a God thing! (these two girls just last week told me they were going into the halls of Abilene High School and doing battle for God. They are warriors for the Kingdom!)

Anyway...As we drove around the corner to pick up the girls we saw it - the most enormous, brightest, most beautiful rainbow I've seen in a long, long time. It stretched across the entire sky! Of course, I became ultra excited about it and when we drove up to the house I got out of the car and stood on the running board thingie and made sure everyone else saw it too. Max was shrinking in the seat saying, "Mom, you're so gay! It's just a rainbow." I, of course, told him that it was way more - that it was God's promise to them today that He would be with them! As we drove along Abby told us that she had been so nervous her stomach had been upset. But that she had just asked God to take away the nervousness and she was now calm! Her stomach didn't hurt anymore! She was amazed and couldn't get over it. I told her to remember that and all day when she started getting nervous to just remember God had taken all that away.

Then we turned down North 6th and I swear to you it looked as if that rainbow was a portal or some such thing, a gateway into their new world. It was a welcoming presence situated directly over their new school. I felt as if I were driving right into it. As they got out of the car I told them how I'd been up all night off and on and had prayed for the three of them to be dressed in the full armor of God that they would be protected. I told them to be strong and courageous. I told them I couldn't wait to hear all about it later and that I would be praying for them all day today.

What a huge and mighty God! What a personal and loving God! Thank you Father for protecting these young warriors as they go out to be who You intended them to be. May they know who they are in Christ and may they spread Your love everywhere they go.
