Request for More Prayer
I know there are several people who occasionally read this blog so I thought I'd take the opportunity to ask for you to pray for a little boy named Jon Westin Bennett. He was involved in the accident our youth group experienced in January. Both of Jon Westin's legs were broken. One was a compound break and has had an open wound since January 16. A few weeks ago they discovered infection around the pins and rods and began antiobiotic treatment. Wednesday they discovered the infection had reached the bone. He had surgery yesterday morning early to begin cleaning it out. He'll have another surgery on Saturday and they'll go in once again on Monday. This little boy is in tremendous pain. He feels alone and isolated from his friends. He hasn't been to school since the accident. There were lots of visitors the first two or three weeks but then things got back to what we so inanely describe as "normal". He's working on school work from his hospital bed in the living room and he's pretty far behind. This isn't going to help matters. Jon Westin has shown unimaginable strength and courage throughout this entire ordeal and has been an example of God's love and mercy to all of us, along with the other kids. Please pray that the infection will be stopped, cleaned up and healing can begin. Pray that his bones will mend together just as they were meant to be. Pray that he will get caught up with his schoolwork and be able to move on to 7th grade with his friends. Pray for his spirits to stay strong and positive. Pray for a cheerful heart. Thank you.
