The word unity keeps coming up today. One thing that we have experienced through the course of the aftermath of the accident in January is unity - in our church, in our families, and in our community. It's amazing how the Body of Christ has united behind these kids and their families. At the risk of sounding redundant, I want to post again about Jon Westin Bennett. He's at a critical point in his healing. Yesterday they found that a spot on his femur on his right leg is not regenerating and the infection was back in visible form. If the bone doesn't heal itself they will have to begin bone grafting and that, we are told, is a long process. Now mind you, Jon Westin sees himself playing football in the fall. I want so badly to see this little boy healed and whole and healthy again. I know God can do that in the blink of an eye. I know He wants Jon Westin whole. A group from Highland met today at noon to pray once again in for JW. At the same time there were people praying at First United Methodist Church and at a friend's church in Houston. All for one little boy, united in agreement to ask, plead, cry out to God for His healing touch. Unity. Can we really grasp the concept, know what it means to be united? Can we continue to grow and dwell in unity? Can we rest there? I think God is trying to teach us something for our families, our churches and our cities. Can it be learned through the struggle and strength of an 11 year old little boy? Who better to teach us.
Father, Open our minds to your wisdom and knowledge. Unite us in ways we never imagined possible. Work Your perfect will in each of our lives, families, churches and cities. And help us love with the love we have received. Thank you for the healing You are doing in Jon Westin's body, soul and spirit. May he teach us.

Candy,
Fear not being redundant. For those of us not in the physical Highland family, but connected very deeply indeed, we need you to be our eyes and ears. I need you to continue reporting what is going on so that I can pray. Thank you for continuing to provide a link to this incident.
Candy,
Our family went to Cook's yesterday to see JW. He seemed weary and ready to be back in Abilene. My prayer is that he may be transferred back here to continue his treatment. We did not see Wes and Terrie because they went out to lunch. I have been amazed and humbled by the faith and trust JW places in the power of Jesus! I praise God for the entire Bennett clan. God is producing a boutiful harvest in JW's soul and I cannot wait to see it come into fruition and for the gifts he posesses to be used powerfully in his ministry.
