It's Your Armor - Pick it up and put it on!!

Has it occurred to you recently that satan is alive and well? I am hearing so many things that sound remarkably like flaming arrows from the enemy on my friends and people I care so much about. He is threatening to take people down in a myriad of ways ranging from illness, marriage upheaval, suicide attempts, auto accidents, financial disaster, freak accidents, child custody suits, etc. And these are all recent developments over the last 3 weeks.

So, I pray: Father, over all these I love and those I only know of and yet love deeply in You, please put on them the Armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, as it has in many cases, they may be able to stand their ground, and after they have done everything, to stand. I pray that they will stand firm with the belt of Truth buckled around their waist because You have said the truth will set us free (John 8:31). Place the breastplate of Righteousness in place about them because You tell us that Your desire is for us to live righteous lives (James 1:20). Send them out with their feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace for in You we have peace. Remind us once again that you have overcome the world (John 16:33). In addition to all this, I pray that they will take up the Shield of Faith, with which You can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one and because we are strengthened in our faith and give You glory being fully persuaded that You have power to do what You have promised (Rom. 4:21). I pray these You love will take up their helmet of Salvation and in doing so You will restore to them the JOY of their Salvation (Ps. 51:12). And please, place in their hands the Sword of the Spirit which is Your word. I pray that they will go to Your word and find strength. Help me to be alert and always keep on praying for all these saints.

The picture above is painted on the wall over the door leading to our garage. I'd like to say that everytime I walk out the door I look up and mentally put my armor on but that would be a lie. I am going to try to start not taking that pile of armor for granted anymore.
